I realize that given my life's work, everything reminds me of copyleft, but
this reminds me of copyleft. 🤣
It's the line between the written agreement and its actual enforcement — and
how difficult that enforcement is.
I think I do want a CoC for copyleft-next that designates a specific
enforcement agent — who is not too closely tied to the project to avoid
conflict of interest but who cares enough about the project to be responsive
when problems start early.
Aaron, do you think that might alleviate some of your concerns?
I've seen the problems you've described too in other projects and the above
is the only idea I've ever had to possible improve the situation.
I otherwise like the Contributor Covenant. I just don't think it's a good
idea for various reasons for Richard or me to enforce the CoC, and I note
the Contributor Covenant says that "Community Leaders" are responsible
for enforcement. 🤔
